Escape into a state of peace and tranquility in this cosy traditional stone barn with secluded garden and hot tub.

Introduction
Hatterrall Barn is a 17th century stone barn, situated at the foothills of the Black Mountains with private garden and hot tub. Set at the base of Hatterrall Hill, high into the valley of Longtown, the barn boasts rugged views across the surrounding farmland.
Sympathetically converted in 2015, Hatterrall Barn showcases a wealth of character and charm, with traditional exposed stone work and honey-hued oak beams throughout, taking you back in time.
Wake to a glorious view of Hatterrall Hill, soak in the bathtub, dine in the open-plan living area, and cosy up in front of the roaring log burner after a day spent walking in the wilds.
Escape into your own paradisiacal land as you step outside onto the secluded patio with bubbling hot tub, wander up the path which runs alongside the babbling brook to find a peaceful garden, with hand-crafted oak-framed gazebo, the perfect spot for a morning coffee.
Inside
Enter into the heart for the home, the open-plan kitchen-diner with cosy living room. Relax into the luxury Duresta sofas, as you huddle around the coffee table for an evening of board games and films alongside the roaring fire. The modern kitchen is well-equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer.
Walk up the hard-crafted stone staircase and you will find two comfortable bedrooms, one king-size with built-in wardrobe and one twin room with a modern en-suite which can be made into a super-king on request, and a family bathroom with outstanding mountain views. The family bathroom has a bath and separate shower, WC and bidet. Whilst the ensuite off the twin room has a shower and WC.
The barn comfortably sleeps four and is perfect for romantic hideaways, families or relaxing with friends. The cottage is very warm and is fully central heated. The log burner will keep you extra warm during the colder months.

Outside
The comfortable dining area leads out to a private patio with hot tub. Follow the path to the secret garden to discover your very own wilderness behind the barn, tucked away amongst the trees. Relax in the oak-framed gazebo as the gentle trickle of the nearby stream provides a magical way to reconnect and revivify. Fire up the charcoal BBQ to enjoy a delightful alfresco supper.
Hatterrall Barn is located at Cwm Farm, situated across the courtyard from the farmhouse, up a private driveway. There is ample off-road parking, with access to an EV charging point (subject to conditions).
If one wishes to roam, a short walk through the fields leads to Hatterrall Hill, where breathtaking mountain views await. I cannot recommend this place more, its truly one of a kind! We are already desperate to come back and looking at dates. The location is fantastic, with great walks and bike rides on the doorstep. It is peaceful and quiet, right next to a river for a cold dip! The hot tub and garden are fantastic, best out of anywhere I’ve stayed. What made it most special was all the little treats on arrival! We felt so welcomed and was a special trip. Thank you for such a cracking holiday!

Fantastically equipped and cosy cottage with lovely views and thoughtful extras. We loved our stay and enjoyed both the BBQ and hot tub. The recommendations and instructions in the folder were great and informed several super days out and about.

Clean, well-equipped and full of character both in the exposed structure and finishes and bespoke wrought iron fittings. Large comfortable armchairs and sofa and long, wide beds which afford a long, restful and cosy sleep. Large bathrooms with quality fittings and powerful showers. Large kitchen with plenty of countershaft and decent appliances. Loved every inch of it.

A beautifully presented cottage on the border with Wales. We were looking for some space and time to relax as a family and we weren’t disappointed. The cottage itself is lovely, very well equipped and lovely and clean. The welcome pack provided was a lovely touch. The location is not overlooked from the back and provides plenty of privacy. Have already recommended the place to several people. Would definitely book again. The host was also lovely when we spoke.

“Beautiful converted barn in peaceful location with views of the hills and a stream flowing at the rear. Just lovely! The hot tub on the deck at the back was a highlight and we used it every day. Sweet and secluded garden with regular visits from the squirrels. Really comfy beds and a huge bathroom. The twin has an on-suite, which was great for the kids overnight. Close to Llantony Priory and Hay on Wye. Definitely recommend!”

“Hatterrall Barn was just perfect. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness put into this space really helped us feel at home in this luxury accommodation. The space was clean, comfortable and private, and had everything we needed for our stay. Our holiday was during the heatwave but the barn always felt cool. There is plenty to do nearby and we loved all the local activities, but could have easily spent the whole time relaxing in the barn, the lovely gazebo space or in the hot tub too.”

“A lovely barn conversion in a beautiful setting. We really enjoyed our stay at Hatterrall Barn and the standard of accommodation was superb! The kitchen was very well equipped and laid out, and the quality of the furnishings throughout the barn were top class. The owners are very nice and welcoming and the cupcakes, tea and coffee on arrival were really appreciated. We loved the gazebo garden and the hot tub was a great way to unwind after a day exploring. We would definitely return, many thanks“

“Our stay at Hatterrall Barn was an unequivocal 10/10! The accommodation is fantastic, very high quality and comfortable, and the setting peaceful and idyllic. A great base for walking (right from the barn) or just relaxing. The stream and hot tub are absolute winners. Sally and Martin are brilliant hosts, always helpful and just all round great people. The welcome pack of goodies was generous and delicious. Cannot recommend the whole experience of a stay at Hatterrall Barn highly enough. “
