ETHOS

Hatterrall was created with a mission to enable our visitors to enjoy the quiet idyll of rural bliss, by escaping the hustle and bustle of life, dropping off the radar into your own paradisiacal land. We hope our cottages provide just that.

The name ‘Hatterrall’ is derived from the breathtaking surroundings in which we are so lucky to be located, at the base of Hatterrall Hill, part of the Black Mountains.

The Black Mountains, formerly known as ‘The Hattrells’ form a magnificent background. This rugged range of hills form a defence on the Welsh-English border, and offer plenty of walking opportunities for our guests.

From the banks of the farm you can hear the cuckoo sing, watch the red kite soar the fields in the early morning searching for their breakfast, and admire wildlife ponds full of tadpoles, newts and toads.

Whether it be gazing at the great spotted woodpeckers building their nests, hearing the buzzard cry, or enjoying a family barbecue under the oak framed gazebos silvering with age, we believe this place offers a chance to escape our contemporary lives and savour a sense of wilderness.
