Our Story

After growing up on a dairy farm on the other side of the valley, Sally met Martin, originally from Vowchurch, at a Young Farmers Dance. The couple got married in Rowlestone Church in 1995 and built their first home in the village. With two young children, they noticed Cwm Farm come up for sale and when viewing the farm in the year 2000, they immediately fell in love with the surroundings and purchased the farm the following year.

They have been renovating the farm ever since, starting with the farmhouse. In 2014, Hatterrall Barn, a 17th century stone barn across the courtyard from the farmhouse, was sympathetically converted into a two-bedroom barn conversion, and in 2015 Martin and Sally purchased Tri Afon, a cottage located in the village of Longtown, the home of Sally’s lovely former school taxi driver, Mrs Powell.

Cwm Farm remains a working farm to this day and is home to beef cattle and sheep. Martin and Sally continue to restore the farm and grounds, with nature and conservation at the forefront, improving the sustainability of the farm for generations to come. Martin, Sally and their family still live on the farm, in a recently completed modern barn conversion.
